Major 80s Scots film returns as a music 40 years on

The original movie featured stars Vincent Friell and Joe Mullaney as highway robbers the Clown and the Wolfman along with Hollywood celebrities Ned Beatty and Bernard Hill.

And now developer Ninian Dunnett will certainly bring the Altruistic duo to the stage following year with songs by Big Country’s Bruce Watson, who supplied the soundtrack to the initial 1985 film.

Bruce, 63, adds: In 1984 we tape-recorded our second cd, Steeltown – and began job on Uneasy Locals.

The movie has constantly been a large part of our lives and we like this brand-new stage musical variation.

The musical will certainly be launched at Perth Theatre in April prior to playing Stirling, Aberdeen, Inverness and ending up at Glasgow’s King s Theater in June 2025.

On Wednesday November 27, Ninian Dunnett signs up with Martin Compston and Gordon Smart on their Restless Natives podcast – called after his 80s flick – to officially reveal information of following yearScottish excursion.

While Perth Film Culture will also be showing a special screening of the original Troubled Citizens film in Perth Theater’s Joan Knight Workshop on Thursday April 3.
